The aim of football is to score more goals than your opponent in a 90-minute playing time. The game consists of two 45-minute halves, with a 15-minute break between them. After the first half, there is an additional fifteen-minute period, during which injury time is added. The game is played for three periods of 45 minutes each. These two periods of play are known as quarters. Each quarter is composed of six phases.

The aim of football is to score more goals than your opponent during the 90-minute playing time. A football game is divided into two 45-minute halves, with 15 minutes between the halves. During half-time, the clock is stopped, but the referee makes up for it by adding injury time. The second half, referred to as ‘full time,’ lasts for 90 minutes. A quarter is one half, and the second half is the final half.

Early footballs were made from animal bladders. Pig bladders were used and were inflated with air. Later, leather covers were added to the balls. At the 1851 Great Exhibition in London, oval and round footballs were displayed. One inventor, Richard Lindon, a retired engineer, won médailles for his invention of a Rubber inflatable bladder. He won the prize for this and other inventions. The football is a fast-paced sport with a lot of contact.
